The September Reset Time Tracking Challenge continues! If you started tracking on Monday at 5 a.m., then you are officially halfway through the project. The midway point of the 168-hour week is 5 p.m. Thursday.
This is always an interesting realization. While it feels like 5 p.m. Thursday is the end of the week, it is really only the halfway point. Even if the first half of the week has been pretty work heavy, there is a lot of time left for family, friends, and fun.
After I posted yesterday I walked with my crew to dinner. We ate at this place with lots of Asian-inspired small plates and an excellent coconut cake for dessert. Dinner ran from 7-9 p.m. Then we walked back and several of us sat in the lobby until 10 p.m. talking. I came upstairs to my hotel room afterwards, got ready for bed, read for a while and read blogs, and then went to bed by 11 p.m. I woke up once (3 a.m.) but fortunately went back to sleep quickly.
I got up at 6:40 a.m. and got dressed in my running clothes. I drank coffee while waiting for a 7 a.m. phone call from a Norwegian newspaper reporter (they are including me in a feature). We talked until 7:40 a.m. about time tracking, planning, and spending time intentionally. Then I zipped out the door and ran until 8:10, at which point I showed up at the door of the donut store again. I got my old fashioned donut, took it to my room, but waited to eat it until after showering and getting ready. I made it to my first session by 8:55 a.m. — a very efficient morning if I say so myself!
Sessions ran from 9-11:30 a.m. Then I went back to my room briefly, then met some of my author friends to go for a long walk. We walked around town and a nearby park until 1 p.m. then get lunch at a poke bowl place. We were back for the afternoon sessions around 2 p.m. This then ran until 4:30 p.m., at which point I went to my room to do various tasks. For instance I planned this weekend (many sports are starting up!). I planned my upcoming week. I answered a few urgent messages. I am posting this and then will meet a few people for dinner in a bit.
I hope your day is going well! If you don’t already have an intention for tonight, now is a great time to think about it. What would you like to do for 30 minutes or so? When could that happen? Do you need to figure out any logistics?
You’re doing great! We only have a few days to go.
