Tranquility by Tuesday — on sale today

Today’s the big day! My book, Tranquility by Tuesday: 9 Ways to Calm the Chaos and Make Time for What Matters, is officially out in the world.

Some folks who pre-ordered the ebook and audiobook have already checked in to let me know that they’ve gotten their copies. If your printed copy arrives today, please take a picture and post it! If you happen to see it “in the wild” at a bookstore, I’d love to see that too — take a photo and send to me at laura at lauravanderkam dot com.

And if you haven’t ordered a copy yet, today would be a great day to do so. I really enjoyed writing this book about how busy people learned to make life better by following nine simple time management rules. I hope you will enjoy reading it! I welcome your thoughts and feedback (Ok, if you hate it, maybe don’t tell me that!)

Here’s to upgrading all our Tuesdays — and making life a lot more fun.

In other news: I’ve been having so much fun doing interviews about TBT. Yesterday I was a guest on the Radio Times show at WHYY, Philadelphia’s NPR station. It was a little adventure to drive downtown and visit the studios again!

I was a guest on the wonderfully named Tranquility du Jour podcast with Kimberly Wilson. We talked all things tranquility…of course.

I was on Francis Wade’s Task Management and Time Blocking podcast — he does a fun podcast concept where we talk through a listener’s challenge and how time strategies might solve it.

Maya Gudka featured me on her Golden Hour podcast — you can check out the episode that she just published, and an earlier one she did on my work.

And if you haven’t checked out Laura Cox Kaplan’s double episode of She Said/She Said, please give it a listen! Here is part 1 and part 2.

Lots more to come (I hope) – I’ll be posting here, and on social media.

  1. Congrats, Laura!
Can’t wait for my copy to arrive in the mail (here in Canada I think it’s set to arrive next week – waiting will only make its arrival even more exciting).

Enjoy the day – and so glad to see all these media mentions, podcast appearances, etc.

  2. Congrats, Laura! I think my copy is set to arrive today. (Last night in the car I was driving and my husband was reviewing some recent online purchases on his phone, and he said, “What is this “tranquility by tuesday” thing showing up on here?” I was like, That’s MY NEW BOOK!! haha!! He said, ‘Oh, I thought you usually just get those from the library?” (It’s true, I don’t buy too many books these days.) And I said, “yep, but I want to support the author on this one, AND I have a feeling it’s one I’ll want to keep and re-read!” 🙂

    1. @Grateful Kae – thank you for supporting my book! I’m thrilled you bought it – hopefully you will want to keep it and re-read it 🙂

  3. Just had an email from Amazon.com to say my order has been despatched today to the UK and is due to be delivered on 24th October, but hoping maybe it will be a bit quicker than that. I have been enjoying listening to all your podcast interviews Laura and it is amazing how different each of them is – some of the same points come up obviously but a lot that is new each time. Looking forward to receiving the book and best of luck with it.

    1. @Katherine B – hopefully it will come a little sooner though who knows with the shipping. I hope you enjoy it whenever it shows up!

  4. My e-book was delivered this morning! It is not nearly as exciting as receiving a physical copy but I pretty much exclusively read e-books these days. I hope you saw a surge in orders last week after your podcast episode. You’ve really been making the rounds on others’ podcasts which is awesome!!

Happy pub date!! I was hoping to join for the zoom toast last night but got derailed by kid baths and such.

  5. The Kindle version of “Tranquility by Tuesday” was waiting for me this morning. I already read the introduction. I read Rule 1 when the preorder bonuses came out. I set a bedtime but some days I am just too involved in something to go to bed.

I am ready to read Rule 2 because I have been planning on Fridays for the last several weeks. I am looking forward to it.

    1. @Barbara – glad it showed up and that you’ve already started reading! Friday planning has been key for me so I hope it is for you too.

  6. Mazal tov, Laura. I’m at JFK on my way home and am scouring the bookstores for TBT. It’s safely in my Kindle but hasn’t hit the shops yet at the airport.
    So excited for you!

  7. Congrats on the book release! I discovered your work as part of a women’s network book club about 5 years ago, and have recommended your books and podcasts to many since. Looking forward to this next one!

  8. Happy Book Launch Day! I did not have a very tranquil day but that changed when I saw your book. I almost skipped a workout today because it has been a busy time and I am getting ready to travel, but then I realized, three times a week is a habit. Since I was able to do a core workout on Sunday, a Spin today and Pilates tomorrow before I leave, I realized that I needed to keep it going and keep what I planned on Friday on the books. I plan to read this beautiful new hardcover book on my flight!
