Father’s Day is coming up this next weekend, as is the official start of summer with the solstice, so today’s episode of Best of Both Worlds is a mix up of summer + Father’s Day topics.
We start with a discussion of Father’s Day, including any past memories and current plans (we are trying brunch). Then we delve into summer reading, from juicy new releases to non-fiction on trilobites (I’ll let you guess which of us is reading what!).
In the Q&A a listener writes in asking for tips on helping kids manage summer work — how to prevent overwhelm while also making sure it gets done, hopefully without nagging. This has been an ongoing source of summer stress in my house but hopefully this summer it won’t be. Kids are different!
Please give the episode a listen. Also, if you’d like to join our Patreon community, we’d love to have you. We currently have about 240 members who join in on our discussion threads and who have access to our monthly Zoom meet-ups. Our next Zoom meet-up is tomorrow, Wednesday June 17th, at noon eastern, and we’ll be discussing travel hacks. These meet-ups are always recorded for people who can’t make it. Membership is $9/month and you can quit after one month if you’d like — but we think you’ll like it!
