Best of Both Worlds podcast: Tiny habits to embrace and avoid in 2026

Some resolutions are large and demanding. But a lot of good habits are pretty easy to do.

In today’s episode of Best of Both Worlds, Sarah and I seize on some of the new year energy (is it still going strong for you?) to talk about habits. From sneaking in a little more produce to stopping by the library, to trashing/recycling junk mail immediately, there are lots of little things that can have at least a medium-sized impact on life.

What would you add to the list? In the Q&A a listener asks if it’s possible to learn to ski or at least enjoy a ski vacation as an adult if you didn’t grow up skiing.

Please give the episode a listen, and as always we welcome ratings and reviews. You might also consider joining our Patreon community — we got 100 new members over the holidays and our discussion threads have been great!

  1. Loved this episode! I’ve recently added a daily phone “blackout” from 6-8pm to preserve this time for connecting to family – dinner, bed time routines, etc. So far this is making evenings (and my mood) more pleasant. My 11 yo adds accountability by physically removing my phone if she catches me!
