Friday miscellany: Wickedness

This will be a quick post as I’m heading out to go pick up the 13-year-old at camp. He’s been gone three weeks! It feels like it was quite a while ago when he left — midsummer, and now we’re cruising into the last month.

My daughter did an excellent job as the Wicked Witch of the West in her theater camp’s production of The Wizard of Oz last night. She let out some believable cackles and screams and seemed very evil! It was so fun to watch her. My parents came as well and came over for dinner after (and in the way our evenings keep going…I went driving to Starbucks with the 16-year-old and the 8-year-old went to parkour after all this!

I’ll note that I remembered to bring flowers – I often forget this, but I had it on my weekly priority list to remember, and I went to the grocery store yesterday morning and picked up a bunch, and wrote notes to myself to bring them with me to the theater. So they made it.

This weekend if the weather cooperates we’ll be seeing a fountain show at Longwood Gardens and going to a Phillies game. So here’s hoping!

  1. Yay! You get to watch my favorite team- the Royals. I grew up in KC, and although my kids have never lived there they consider it “home” (we move way too much to have a hometown unfortunately) so they are big royals fans. I’ve been hearing about this Phillies-Royals matchup today
