Yesterday was launch day for Off the Clock: Feel Less Busy While Getting More Done, and it was exciting to see some buzz on social media. A few quotes (of many more!):
Kristin Kane: “If you read one book this summer on time management, mindfulness or productivity, make it this one.”
Tami Forman: “If your life feels like one very long treadmill ride through obligations and exhaustion, buy this book. Now. Go. I’ll wait. It will change how you think about time, your life, and everything else.”
Tracy Davidson: “Our perception of time and what you should be spending your time on will likely be changed forever by this book. Mine was.”
Manoush Zomorodi: “She truly has made me rethink how I use my time.”
Emma Johnson: “Beautifully written, and excellently reported.”
Caroline Webb: “Deep and practical all at once.”
Molly Beck: “You will highlight every page.”
Anyway, lots of cool stuff in the works. If you ordered the book and it arrived, wonderful! Please consider posting a review online when you’ve finished. A few sentences can convince other busy readers that a book is worth their time. Thank you!
In the midst of all this, life continues. My 6-year-old and 3-year-old co-authored and launched their own little book together yesterday. “Chompy goes to the doctor” — about a dinosaur with allergies. They all went in the pool for close to an hour last night despite it not being very warm. I sat in the 3-year-old’s room for about 40 minutes surfing the web, as this seems to be the only way to get him to go to sleep…
I ordered a copy! Can’t wait to read it, because I am definitely feeling “time poor” these days.
@Rinna- thank you! I hope you enjoy it!
I bought it yesterday, read the prologue last night and got to the list of “secrets of people with all the time in the world” at the end of it and I am hooked 🙂
I got my copy yesterday and I am really excited to read this book! Btw, I listened to the interview with Kari on the Running Lifestyle Show podcast and really enjoyed it.
@Angela- great, so glad you enjoyed that! Thanks for getting a copy of Off the Clock. I appreciate it!
I still sit and keep my almost four year old company while he goes to sleep. I figure that once he can read by himself we will encourage him to just read quietly in bed until it’s time to go to sleep, but for now he likes us being in there and it’s nice to be able to give him that support!
That’s such a great idea! In the past year my husband and I have just resolved to either lay with each kid or sit in the hallway outside their rooms until they sleep. I have no problem with helping my children get to sleep peacefully instead of battling with them to get in bed and demanding they go to sleep, especially since My daughter made a good point when she was about 5. She said she didn’t want to go to sleep by herself: ‘how come you don’t sleep by yourself.’ welp. that’s a good point and i couldn’t argue! but I love your idea of introducing the idea of them reading to themselves before bed- my daughter is 7 and can read- I think I will see if I can start this in my own house!
