BLP Live, content, miniatures

This was quite a week (and beginning to the weekend)! I didn’t post the latter half of last week because I was consumed by Best Laid Plans Live in Florida. We gathered and came up with ideas for 2027. We did all the usual things like yoga on the beach and this year all the pools were functional so I got to hang out there plus walk on the beach. People exchanged planner products and notebooks. I think people mostly had a good time. And this year my flight home didn’t get canceled! We left an hour late but…oh well.

Since I didn’t post content for last week, please check out my Before Breakfast interview with Eric Zwick on the Everywhere Millionaire, plus short episodes on “Make a $5 fun list” and “Sometimes it pays to be picky.”

I also ran Vanderhacks on “Don’t throw good time after bad money,” and “Try a lunchtime adventure once a week.” I will be doing a Substack Live with Erica Dhawan on Monday around 4:30 p.m. (through her channel).

Oh, and Big Time turned 6 months old this week! This book, about how to create a sense of time abundance in a busy life, is one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. If you’ve picked up a copy, thank you! Would you tell a friend about it? And if you haven’t picked up a copy, please check it out!

I got back on Saturday night. I relaxed and read the November/December issue of Good Housekeeping (reading December mags will be on my holiday fun list). Today, after church and dropping a kid at tennis, I drove out to Cherry Hill, NJ for the Philadelphia Miniature show. For someone who enjoys looking at tiny things, this is almost overwhelming. It’s always hard to know what to get, especially since I already have a lot of miniature scenes, but I found some little treasures nonetheless. Among them: a Philadelphia tote bag, some Frye boots with a box, a copy of War and Peace, a copy of Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice and several tiny notebooks. Plus an exquisite little blue and white porcelain platter. Plus I’ve been pondering how to make my own rugs and I might do some Christmas decorations (like tiny wrapped presents…)
