Best of Both Worlds podcast: Productivity hacks (+AI)

productivity hacks podcast

I’m not sure how productive I’m feeling here as we drag through the last week of school into summer. But we do what we can!

Today’s episode of Best of Both Worlds is all about productivity hacks. Sarah and I share our favorite ways to get more done, including some strategic multi-tasking. We also discuss our productivity super powers– what are we much faster at than other people?

I write quickly, which may be less of a competitive advantage in this AI-era. We do an obligatory discussion of AI tools for productivity (though neither of us use AI all that much — and never for content generation).

Then we end with a discussion of TOAD time — “Time Outside After Dinner.” A listener wants to go outside, but with multiple small kids, and a limited window of time, it feels like a hassle. What do we suggest for making it easier and quicker to get outside?

Please give the episode a listen! And please consider joining our Patreon community. We’ve got a long forum thread going this week on places we’d like to travel in the next five years, with people sharing tips on hotel recommendations and which national parks are less crowded (among other things). It’s a great community and a good alternative to social media. Membership is $9/month, and our next Zoom meet-up (discussing travel hacks) will be on June 17th.

  1. I like using AI to start documents for me which I can then edit. It is also *great* for professional emails. Sometimes it lapses into coaching which can be kind of annoying, but if you tell it to stop, it usually will.

    1. @Omdg – I can see the benefits for rough drafts. I often spend as much time editing things like guest posts as I would spend writing my own, so it might or might not save time, but sometimes not staring at a blank page is nice.
