Best of Both Worlds podcast: Restaurant adventures — dining out through the ages

dining out with kids

Today’s episode of Best of Both Worlds explores new ground: dining out. While Sarah and I were having dinner together in Vero Beach recently we decided that restaurant meals would make a good topic. We both like eating out and we both have spent many years with kids in the ages where dining out is just…not that fun. But we are also emerging into a world where restaurant meals with the kids are actually enjoyable. It’s a welcome transition!

In this episode we talk about some of our favorite meals through the ages, some disasters, and when kids become better restaurant companions. We talk about strategies for selective eaters (or when you have one younger kid like me — I’m OK with the iPad, though I know some people aren’t).

In the Q&A we talk about strategies for falling and staying asleep.

Please give the episode a listen. You might also consider joining our Patreon community, where we have multiple discussion threads going each week on topics like these (this week we’ve been talking workout routines). Our next monthly Zoom meet-up will be April 20th at 1 pm and we’ll talk summer planning. Membership is $9/month. Please check it out!
