January is just around the corner! And that means it will soon be time for the annual Time Tracking Challenge.
This year, the Time Tracking Challenge is running from Jan 12-19, 2026. If you’ve ever considered tracking your time, this is a great week to do it, as we often wind up with thousands of people participating, and that can be very motivating! You can sign up here to receive a time log and daily motivational emails during the challenge.
If you track your time as part of the challenge, and are then interested in having me help makeover your weekday evenings, let me know — I’m focusing on the “golden hours” for an upcoming project and would love to include examples.
In the meantime, speaking of signing up ahead of time for things…I was online right at 9 a.m. this morning to sign up for an area day camp that my 5-year-old was really excited about. He went for a week last year and loved it, so he wanted to do additional weeks this summer. They often sell out. So I had put on my calendar for around this time of year to look for the message and then I got the email that it would open at 9 a.m. this morning. I figured out the summer camp spreadsheet a few days ago to know exactly which weeks to book, and by 9:10 I was booked for the weeks I wanted and was done. I love little scheduling victories like this.
Now onto content…my Before Breakfast interview this week was with Sarah Hart-Unger! Her book, Best Laid Plans, will be out next Tuesday. I’m so thrilled for her that she will have this project out in the world. So please give that episode a listen, and pick up a copy of the book.
Over at Vanderhacks, my Substack newsletter, I wrote that you can “Give yourself the gift of success” — there is still time to make some 2025 goals happen! I also wrote about how one might “Find an anchor date” — a way to remember things that don’t necessarily have to happen at a certain time. Behind the paywall, I asked “Should you raise your goals over time?” and “How to make holiday gatherings more meaningful.” Please consider a free or paid subscription. Thanks for supporting me and my work!
