A few weeks ago, Sarah and I hosted our third annual Best Laid Plans Live conference in south Florida (OK, she was the sole host for the first one, but I attended, and then co-hosted the second two!). We love having dedicated space to think about and plan the upcoming year.
In today’s episode of Best of Both Worlds, we share some of our thinking and planning exercises from the conference, and then talk about our take-aways. We offer suggestions for how someone can create their own version of BLP Live if visiting Florida in November isn’t in the cards.
Please give the episode a listen, and as always we welcome ratings and reviews. We will likely be hosting a fourth iteration of the conference in early November 2026, so stay tuned for the announcement in the new year!

I also think it is helpful when you co-host BLP live together with Dr. Sarah Hart-Unger, Ms. Laura Vanderkam.
I can also see the ways that one can have a kind of very similar version to what you do live, which include enrolliing in the program Best Laid Plans at Home, carving out space for the list of 100 dreams.
After listening to this episode, I searched for flights between Calgary, Canada where I live right now and – for the sake of an example, Minneapolis – to see if there’re flights between these 2 places every Friday. It turns out that there are.
