I’m really enjoying reading people’s notes about tracking their time last week. Thanks again to everyone who took part in the challenge. I’m a bit behind on responses, because there were a lot of responses (which is a very good thing), but I promise I will get back to everyone in time. I’m definitely hoping to run some time makeovers on the blog over the next few months.
Life continues to be a circus. We finally got the “real” fridge and freezer installed yesterday, though that was a production of moving food, and the installation went until 8 p.m. The shutters are going up outside so I have a lift moving people past the various windows where we don’t have curtains yet. My husband had to be at the old house at 8 a.m. to let a plumber in to fix something there. He also had a call at 6 a.m. after the toddler howled and would not go down until 2 a.m. — it was a rough night.
But the tide of boxes is slowly retreating. I’m down to one in the bathroom (though I still haven’t found my good towels) and a few in the closet, though nothing is put away in drawers at the moment. There are about 10 boxes in the kitchen and I can’t find the pots and pans. We just keep cleaning the one saucepan and one frying pan we have. The kids now all have laundry hampers and dressers and when two more bookcases get delivered this will help the stuff-on-the-floor situation a lot.
Anyway, no real point to this blog post. I’ve been having conversations about book covers and making edits and writing podcast scripts and just continuing to muddle along in bits of time. Now I need to go do my “move by 3 p.m.” run. It is a balmy 48 degrees so a good day for it!

We had almost all our windows replaced in July and I STILL haven’t gotten blinds put back up. The new windows won’t fit the old blinds and we need to get some parts re-caulked because with temperature shifts the original caulking from July has cracked a bit…and there is no point painting until the caulking gets done and there is no point caulking until the final baseboard trim fixes get done…and there is no point going to measure for new blinds until all the painting gets done. Sigh.
I am tired of living in a fishbowl, but I’ve told myself I can have January off from worrying about renovations.
Sorry your toddler was up until 2 am. My not-toddler (7) came in at 4 am telling me he was “so hungry my legs are shaking.” He was in a cranky mood the previous night and put himself to bed early with only a few bites of supper and was now ravenous. He tells me he did not get back to sleep after his early-morning snack. Nor did I…
