A few midweek musings on little things that make me smile:
I got my hair cut today. I had a $50 gift certificate from the silent auction last spring. I brought it to the register to pay afterwards and the cashier got a puzzled look on her face. Apparently, the card was for $85, even though it said $50. I got a free cut with money left over for next time!

I became a runner ten years ago. I had tried here and there before, but never effectively. Then I watched Paula Radcliffe win the 2004 New York City Marathon. It was another great October weekend, with fantastic fall weather. A few highlights:

This week my husband went to Rio de Janeiro mostly for business and I tagged along. It was a lot of travel for a short time there -- two overnights on planes in a week -- but we had some adventures nonetheless:
