About a year and a half ago, Sarah and I decided to launch a Best of Both Worlds Patreon community. We have great discussions going on the forum on topics related to career and family, and we host monthly virtual meet-ups. Community members also network with each other extensively, which is really cool to see.
This month, via the Patreon community, we’re starting the Best of Both Worlds book club! Our first selection is Tabitha Carvan’s This Is Not a Book About Benedict Cumberbatch. It really isn’t a book about the actor — it’s about women’s hobbies/passions/obsessions, and how we can make space for such things even when society doesn’t always deem such things “appropriate.”
We’ll be gathering (via Zoom) on Tuesday, February 21 at noon, eastern. The book is a pretty quick read, so you still have time to download the ebook tonight and read much of it by Tuesday if you like (especially if you have Monday off for President’s Day! Though perhaps not if your kids are also out of school/childcare for the holiday). And you don’t have to read the book (or finish the book) to join us. Seriously, no judgement.
Patreon membership is $9 a month. You can join here. You can also leave at any point so if you just want to try it out for the book club discussion, that is totally fine. Hope to see you there!
