Lots of people are changing jobs these days. But even so, careers are long. If you want to build a big, meaningful career that is sustainable in the long run, you need to think strategically.
Dorie Clark is an expert on becoming a “recognized expert” (a thought leader on becoming a thought leader!). Her new book, which is out today, is called The Long Game: How to be a Long-Term Thinker in a Short-Term World. In today’s episode of Best of Both Worlds, she chats with me about her advice for networking, why we all need more at-bats (since anything involving gatekeepers has subjective elements), and how to get more out of your time. I thought her book made a lot of good points (and I read a lot of career books) so please do check it out.
In the Q&A section, Sarah and I address a listener who is trying to stay productive at work during her first trimester. Please give the episode a listen, and as always, we appreciate a rating or review wherever you listen to podcasts.
