We are on virtual school day number 2 over here…and still digging out of the snow.
In the meantime, this week’s Best of Both Worlds podcast is a mash-up of life updates and a discussion of life skills.
Sarah is now working in a different office once a week and she talks about that, and how it affects the schedule. I talk about my family’s recent Galapagos trip and the highlights (and challenges!) of traveling internationally with seven people.
Then we transition to a discussion of what life skills kids should learn, and when we learned these. From cooking to laundry to pill swallowing and money management, life features a lot of life-ing. We discuss what needs to be taught and what happens a bit more organically.
Please give the episode a listen. And please consider joining our Patreon community — our life skills episode came out of a comment on our forum from someone who was systematically teaching her pre-teens life skills. We thought it was a smart idea — and there are lots of smart ideas like that there from other people combining work and life. Membership is $9/month.
