Best of Both Worlds podcast: Raising calm kids in a worry-filled world

calm

There’s always plenty to worry about, but things can get overwhelming for kids very quickly. In today’s episode, licensed therapists Ashley Graber and Maria Evans, authors of the new book Raising Calm Kids in a World of Worry, chat with me about how we can encourage calm, even when the news feed isn’t. Bonus: Many of these tips apply to adults too!

In the Q&A, a listener wonders at what age do kids start cutting their own nails? There are all sorts of milestones out there that we probably don’t think about that much.

Please give the episode a listen, and as always, we welcome ratings, reviews, and ideas. You might also consider joining the Best of Both Worlds Patreon community. This week we’re having a great discussion about career breaks.

  1. This episode and the book written by the guests are called “Raising Calm Kids in a World of Worry”, which is great. I just wonder what you’ll consider of an author who instills worries in others, Ms. Laura Vanderkam. Like Dr. Caroll Tavris who wrote a book called “Mistakes Were Made (but Not By Me)”, or Dr. Justin Gregg who wrote a book called “If Nietzsche Were a Narwhal: What Animal Intelligence Reveals About Human Stupidity”. I prefer my comment to not exceed 300 words, and I cannot discuss these 2 books in detail in this comment.
I think that today’s guests would consider it part of their job to find out about people who instill worries in others.
