In life, it’s easy to add things to the schedule without consciously taking other things off. But because time is absolutely limited, things wind up not happening, or people wind up feeling harried. Perhaps it would be wise to actively de-prioritize things as an approach to making life feel more doable.
In this week’s episode of Best of Both Worlds, Sarah interviews Amy Laski of the Difference Lab about “intentional subtraction.” She talks about how to apply this concept in both personal and professional settings. She also talks about her own schedule as the mother of three tween/teens.
In the Q&A, Sarah and I address “Mommy Days” — one-on-one kid days. We have both done these in past summers but are not formally doing them this summer for various reasons. We talk about other ways to create one-on-one time with kids and the benefits of doing so.
