Many of us are thinking about how to spend our time better in the new year. Dr. Christina Shenvi, an emergency medicine physician who also coaches medical students and faculty on productivity, thinks about this a lot!
In this episode of Best of Both Worlds, Shenvi joins me to talk about how to make the most of our time. We talk about figuring out what we want our lives to look like (the compass), being efficient with time (the clock), and managing our minds (the key). Even busy people can get a lot done when they can engineer periods of focus. Shenvi shares how she makes this work in her busy life as a practicing physician, professor, and mother of four.
In the question section, Sarah and I answer a question about job searching while pregnant. There is a legal dimension to this, to be sure, but as with many things in life, the more career capital and connections you have in your industry, the easier this will be. Please give the episode a listen!
Also, Shenvi and past BOBW guest Lori Mihalich-Levin are doing a free time management webinar TODAY for parents returning to work (2-3 p.m. eastern). You can sign up here.
Loved this episode! Christina is so articulate. I wish I had had an advisor like her when I was a student!
Wow. Loved this. Look forward to following more of what Dr Shenvi’s work. Thank you!
