Somebody is celebrating a certain special birthday tomorrow! Sarah and I devoted this episode of Best of Both Worlds to her 40th birthday. She was supposed to go to the DC area for some fine dining and stationery/planner shopping. But she will take the day off and do some more localized celebrating instead.
We reflect on the upsides and downsides of turning 40 and reminisce a bit about what I did for this milestone birthday (now almost a year and a half ago…whoa). Here’s hoping that Sarah can re-create her intended adventures for her 41st. In the meantime, if you’ve recently had a major birthday, let us know what you did…and if you’ve celebrated one in quarantine, what did you do for fun?
If you’d like to do something for Sarah for her birthday, please leave us a nice review over at Apple Podcasts!
My husband and I were supposed to leave for Iceland this Friday for a dual 40th birthday trip. We had tickets to the Blue Lagoon, a tour of the southern coast (Puffins! Black sand beaches! Glaciers!), plans to dine and drink with abandon and without the children. Alas… this Friday is now filled with client calls and report editing. Next year in Reykjavik!
Surprised you didn’t mention that regular mammograms are recommended starting at age 40. Though I didn’t start until 41 because like Laura, I was still nursing a baby at 40.
