Sarah and I are delighted to welcome Jen Hatmaker to the Best of Both Worlds podcast today. Jen is the author of the brand new book Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire, which is, as it says in the subtitle, “the guide to becoming glorious you.” Jen has taken the Christian book world by storm with her inclusive vision of the faith, and her rather humorous take on life (check out her 2013 viral blog post on being “the worst end of school mom ever” — kind of poignant to read that as few of us are getting to do any end-of-year school stuff!). She is the author of several other books, including Off Mess and Moxie, and For the Love. She lives in Austin and a few years ago her family was the subject of an HGTV series called My Big Family Renovation. She, her husband, and their five children lived in a fixer-upper while it was getting fixed-up, and the whole thought of that right now makes me want to run away screaming.
Anyway, this was a fun interview, so please check it out! In the opener, Sarah and I discuss our current diversions (she was reading The Cortlandt Boys!) In the Q&A we handle a question from a listener who’s struggling to make time for friendship during the baby years.
For running and walking outside, I like my Trekz Titanium headphones – they vibrate against your head right in front of your ears and don’t block your ears at all – it works and you can hear the whole world around you at the same time. And they’re comfortable enough that I don’t mind wearing them for a long time.
